To keep bringing you all the best clean beauty recommendations while I’m “maternity leave”, a few of my favorite women in the industry will be sharing their favorite products with us over the next couple of months in a series titled “What’s in Her Bag”. This week, please meet Kathryn Murray Dickinson, owner and founder of AILLEA, which has two brick and mortar locations in Denver, Colorado, as well as a great e-tail site.
Many of the people that come in to AILLEA are looking to switch to clean beauty products, but are overwhelmed by all of the choices. 9 out of 10 times, they end up looking at me and asking, “What do you use?” So, I am sharing with all of you the answer to my everyday routine!
FOUNDATION
ILIA Foundation & Kjaer Weis Foundation. I admit I am high maintenance when it comes to my foundation and having a glowing, clean complexion that covers up my pink undertones, but still gives me great skin texture that looks natural and clean is a must. After hydrating my skin REALLY well (Indie Lee Squalane Oil is my go-to for skin prep) I do a single layer of ILIA foundation and then use the Kjaer Weis on my cheeks to cover up the pinker areas. Flawless results every time!
BLUSH
RMS Buriti Bronzer is technically a bronzer, but I am Irish and have a lot of pink in my skin and when I wear blushes sometimes I feel TOO pink. The Buriti Bronzer is perfect for me; it adds a natural flush that looks like I just went for a quick jog. It is universally flattering and that little pot lasts FOREVER! I usually do a tiny dab of pink with Vapour Beauty Aura Multi-Use in Eros for that tiniest slight flush.
HIGHLIGHTER
Maya Chia Highlight of the Day (Golden Hour) is my newest obsession at AILLEA. This liquid highlighter is so flattering and can be worn under foundation for subtle radiance, mixed with foundation on your cheek bone, or worn on top of foundation for the prettiest glow. When I go out at night I use it on top of foundation and mix it with my foundation for daytime looks.
LIPSTICK
Kosas Lipstick. The newest addition to the store, these creamy moisturizing lipsticks are flying out the door.
MASCARA
Lily Lolo Mascara is hands down my favorite mascara. It defines, volumizes, lengthens and NEVER runs, flakes or disappears.
TONING MIST
Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator. This is my hydrating secret weapon. Denver is so very dry and having this in my pocketbook is great for traveling or refreshing my face mid afternoon.
SUPPLEMENTS
Moon Dust. I mix these in my water bottle (or more often my smoothie). I love the sex dust to increase circulation, vitality and energy!
