Aillea Beauty recently sent me some goodies to play with given the warmer months are approaching, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. I have been dying to get my hands on the new Kjaer Weis lip gloss, and was super excited to receive the shade Fascination. (More on that in a bit.)
One thing that I adore about Aillea Beauty is that they are one of a very few online retailers that carry all of my favorite brands. When it comes to making purchases, I feel way more comfortable finding everything I need in one place, opposed to making purchases all over the internet. And I have to admit, Aillea is staying current with up-and-coming green beauty brands while a lot of other green retailers are lagging behind. (Get with the program, folks!)
First, things first – Suntegrity Face Sunscreen and Primer SPF 30. I’ve been using this sunscreen outdoors and the pool for years. It smells good, absorbs well, and doesn’t leave a whitish cast on my face. However, I will say that Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream SPF 30 is what I wear on a daily basis. It feels not quite as heavy duty as the Suntegrity.
Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation in Texel (SF3) – I had been waiting waiting waiting for this release! This foundation is great – it slides on easily and doesn’t settle in my pores or fine lines. It also leaves the perfect glow on the skin. A keeper.
Lily Lolo Pressed Bronzer in Miami Beach – Such a great pressed bronzer – the color is a nice, warm brown, notorangey or tan or some strange copper shade. Also? NO SHIMMER OR GLITTER. Mama hates shimmer/glitter particles on her face.
Kosas Color + Light Pressed Palette in Longitude Zero – A pop of this coolish rosy pink on the apples of the cheeks in combination with a little bronzer on the cheekbones and temples? Perfection.
Kjaer Weis Lip Gloss in Fascination – Okay, I am obsessed with the lip gloss formulation. And the scent? I can’t get enough. It reminds me of childhood summers by the pool. What is this smell, people? Almost like old school tanning lotion? Hawaiian Tropic? Or sweet almond oil? I actually try to smell my upper lip, people. It’s weird, I admit.
However, I digress. I do want to talk about this particular shade in Fascination. It is described as a “faded raspberry red,” and I have to disagree, at least the way it looks on me. (See above photo.) When I think of raspberry, I think of a cooler-toned berry. This wears much warmer to me…like a pinkish rose coral. It’s absolutely perfect for spring and summer. I’m really excited to try Affinity next.
Kjaer Weis Lip Pencil in KW Rose – I really enjoyed the formulation of this lip pencil. Glides on effortlessly and is very creamy. However, on my very pigmented lips, the shade was a bit lighter than my natural lip color. So, for me, this shade is perfect for a really pale rosy nude lip, but I would imagine more of “your lips but better” on many other skintones.
So! Drumroll, please! Aillea has kindly agreed to a giveaway for my readers! Look at all these lovely products.
