I was torn between rating this a 3 or a 4 and my reasoning is below.
Pros: I like the texture of the foundation and no issues with the scent. It goes on nicely, not sticky or heavy, has a fluid consistently and spreads easily. It was exactly what I was looking for in a natural non toxic foundation.
Cons: I notice Phenethyl Alcohol listed as an ingredient. From what I can find online, this is similar to Phenoxyethanol - an ingredient I am trying to avoid completely (really all phenols since I have vitiligo). I found Aillea and chose to start buying their products because of their commitment to never sell products that contain Phenoxyethanol. From what I have read so far, Phenethyl Alcohol is basically the same thing. Hopefully I can get in touch with someone who can really explain this and convince me of their differences.
Other con/complaint: I found it difficult to choose the correct shade. I had to scour the internet and the Ilea site to get a more accurate depiction of the colors and how they look on different skin tones. I wasn’t super confident in my choice but decided to go with the Milos SF8. All the medium shades seem to have either a red or yellow tint. I was looking for a more olive tone but didn’t see a clear option.
I will probably try a different foundation next time.
Smooth application and looks natural.
my absolute favorite foundation! lightweight but buildable, not sticky/tacky and makes my skin glow. Doesn't make you look like you have a bunch of makeup caked on.
Great coverage but light! I love that it's all clean ingredients and even some extras to help my skin!
This foundation feels like skin and has the perfect coverage!
